Coming in 2027: Air Conditioning from CC Solar – Powered by Your Own Solar
As homes become better insulated and summers become warmer, more homeowners across West Sussex are starting to think about keeping their homes comfortable during the hotter months.
At CC Solar Smart Eco Homes, we’re always looking at technologies that work well alongside the renewable energy systems we already install. That’s why we’re currently looking to introduce domestic air conditioning installations from spring 2027.
Why air conditioning and solar make a great combination
One of the most interesting things about modern air conditioning is that the time you are most likely to need cooling is often the same time your solar panels are producing the most electricity.
For a home with solar PV, this creates an opportunity to use more of your own generation rather than exporting it to the grid.
Add battery storage into the equation and the whole home can start working together as an energy system.
During the day, your solar panels can generate electricity for the home, battery and air conditioning. Stored solar energy can then help cover electricity demand later in the day.
Modern air conditioning isn’t just about cooling
Many modern air-conditioning systems are actually air-to-air heat pumps. This means they can provide efficient cooling during warm weather and heating when required during cooler periods.
They can be particularly useful for bedrooms, home offices, conservatories, extensions and other areas where temperature control can be difficult.
Correct design and equipment selection are important, though. Just as with an air source heat pump, simply fitting the biggest unit available isn’t the answer. The size and characteristics of the room, insulation, glazing, orientation and expected usage all need to be considered.
More than just solar panels
CC Solar has been helping homeowners across West Sussex and the surrounding area for over 14 years.
Today, our renewable energy services include Solar PV, Battery Storage, EV Charging and Air Source Heat Pumps, together with the ongoing support and maintenance that existing renewable-energy systems require.
Adding air conditioning is a natural next step.
Rather than looking at each technology separately, we increasingly see the home as one complete energy system.
For example, a household could have:
- Solar panels generating its own electricity
- Battery storage capturing surplus generation for later
- An EV charger making better use of low-cost or self-generated electricity
- An air source heat pump providing heating and hot water
- And, from 2027, air conditioning providing efficient cooling where required
The aim is simple: use energy more intelligently, reduce reliance on the grid and make the home more comfortable throughout the year.
Thinking about air conditioning for 2027?
We’re currently researching and preparing our air-conditioning offering with a view to introducing installations from spring 2027.
If you’re considering air conditioning next year — particularly if you already have solar panels or battery storage — you’re welcome to speak to us now.
And if you don’t yet have solar, battery storage or a heat pump, we can look at the property as a whole and help you decide which technologies make sense for your home rather than simply selling you a product.
