We’ve all seen it in the news; increasingly extreme weather patterns, wildfires, and rising sea-levels are just a few of the tell-tale signs. Climate change is happening, and it’s happening faster than many had predicted.
The IPCC (intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) published a report last year in which they detailed the extensive damage posed if we allow a 1.5C increase in global temperatures this century, and yet, at the moment, the data shows that we’re headed for a catastrophic 3C rise… The time to act is now.
Whilst the UK government fails to engage with the concerning facts, dozens of local councils are announcing climate emergencies; declaring their goal to reach zero-carbon in the next decade.
Collectively, there are many things we can do to reduce the amount of harmful CO2 we emit, one of which is installing solar panels on your roof. An IPCC Special Report on Renewable Energy Sources identified solar as the technology with the largest technical potential to tackle climate change. By taking this step you can take action on climate change.
